”I have to believe in a world outside my own mind. I have to believe that my actions still have meaning, even if I can’t remember them. I have to believe that when my eyes are closed, the world’s still there. Do I believe the world’s still there? Is it still out there?… Yeah. We all need mirrors to remind ourselves who we are. I’m no different.” - Leonard Shelby, Memento
I’ve missed out on a lot of movies. It was mainly because, when I came to America, my parents had to focus on work and getting settled, so movies were never a priority. So now I’m spending my time going through a few of the essentials. I’d give a little review, but all the movies I’m gonna be watching, you’ve probably already seen. If you haven’t though, it’s a nice departure from the classic film noir style with a twist, a memory loss “condition,” plus a chronological conundrum that might leave your head spinning. Though resolution does come at the end, it forces you to create your own theory of what exactly happened. Definitely a good watch if you’re the puzzle-solving type and you like a movie that is going to make you think. I’m still considering all the possibilities.
