ElectroWhat? - Dub

Let’s start this one off with an anecdote: I was at the beach so I wasn’t able to post. Now, speaking about the beach, let’s talk about dub. I know it’s a big jump away from what we were discussing previously (Rock Infusions), but it’s necessary to understanding the development of electronic music. Dub as a genre started developing around the same time as the infusions, in the late 1960s, when musical innovators like Lee “Scratch” Perry and Osbourne “King Tubby” Ruddock took Reggae tracks and modified the music to emphasize the riddim, the drums and bass, usually stripping away the vocals of the track as well.
